Title: Getting Started
Post by: Volcano on May 27, 2024, 09:47 PM
New to this server?  Here is what you need to know.

This is a massive 16K map (64k meters squared).  There are 6 different kingdoms on this map, each kingdom is at war with each other, and any players on the other kingdom is an enemy and you can attack / kill him and vice versa.  This is a PVP (Player vs Player) server and fighting is allowed and encouraged.  If you are more of a PVE (Player vs Environment), then you will want to tuck yourself deep in the map, there are a lot of good places that you can hide and no-one will ever find you.

You will start at your kingdom starter settlement with basic tools.  Use those tools in your inventory (Press F3 default) by double clicking / activating them, and right clicking on any object in the world to see what options you have.  For example, activate a Hatchet and right click a tree to see the Cut option.  Activate a Pickaxe and right click on a rock / mine wall and you can see you can mine.  Use your noob tools to make your own tools which can be improved (noob tools cannot be improved).  You can earn money by:
1.  Playing and being online (15 iron per 2 minutes)
2.  Killing creatures
3.  Burning corpses (activate steel and flint, right click corpse, Burn)
4.  Selling items to the trader / other players
5.  Selling tools you found / made to the NPC Tool Purchaser
6.  Killing an enemy or stealing money
7.  Event Center challenges / dungeons (right click any settlement toke for Event Teleport to get to Event Center)

Once you have some basic tools you made at your kingdom starter town and a little bit of money, jump in a boat or on a horse and explore the lands to find your homestead.  It is recommended you find a location that has access to easy travel if you explore a lot, some higher hills / rock faces to mine rock and ore, and adequate resources to build your own settlement and feed your crafting needs.

Once you find your homestead location, you will need to build a tower.  To  do this, you will need to make 500 stone bricks (use iron chisel on rock shard to make a brick), 500 clay (dig some clay in a pre-defined clay pit,), and 100 planks (use iron saw on log to make a plank).  Activate a brick, then right click on the clay to create a Guard Tower.  Finish the guard tower to create influence within 50 tiles in all directions.  Build additional towers later to extend your kingdom influence and spawn guard tower guards to protect the area from enemies.

Towers will create influence, influence creates your kingdom animal, kingdom animals guard your territory and fight the enemy player.  Deed can be dropped inside that kingdom influence, you will need to have 5-6 silver to get a starter deed going, they are not free here.

To plant a deed, right click the deed stake in your inventory. For a 10x10 with 1 guard, the cost may be close to 5 or 6 silver coins.  If you do not have guards, the price goes down about 1 silver initially and per month.

Now fortify your deed.  It is recommended to utilize mine door entrances due to the fact they are nearly impossible to break down quickly and takes a long time to break them.  Build high dirt walls and/or deep ditches around your settlement to slow the enemy down while you shoot arrows at them.  Use thorn bushes to cause bodily harm to your enemies.  Build / chain guard towers every 50 tiles, and every 10ql the guard tower has, you will have 1 more tower guard who patrols the area and can help you with attacking animals by typing help in the local chat window.  Lock your items up, they won't be fully protected unless they are on a deed.  When someone attacks you, they will have to face the tower guards, settlement guards, your kingdom animal, and you to get in.  Investing more money in your deed to have more guards is very helpful.

Now just build your skills, get good at a craft, and have fun!

Server Facts:[/b][/color]
-Drakes and Balisks don't attack and cannot be attacked, all swings will miss.  This may change in the future.
-Dragon and Drake eggs are not fertile based upon a mod setting.
-Priests on this server have no limitations on actions or daily limits of prayer.  Every diety allows the priest to vast all available spells using a mod.  Choosing one diety over another will only have pros and cons to environmental things like tiles and animals.
-If you need help, or are getting frustrated. Or can't do something really cool. PM a GM (Volcano or Kess), or message us in game or Discord.
