Craft recall runes and mark a location on it, and recall to it.
Several config options allow it to be an easily accessible, an end-game feature, or something inbetween.
Config can be reloaded during server runtime without restarting.

Recall runes are chiseled from marble bricks and improved, using a skill that is configurable, at a difficulty that is configurable (default 40, current 50 put of 300). By default this is Channeling, adding a way to grind the skill without endlessly casting your lowest favour spell.

Marking and recalling with runes can have no requirements, recalling from one side of the server to the other, making it an easily accessible feature. They can also be as safe as disallowing marking and recalling into water, lava, solid rock, and very steep areas.

Or... require runes to be excessively high QL, make them take damage on use, require a minimum QL to be usable, require favour to cast on, limit the distance they work on by quality level, favour consumed, or hard distance limits. And be as dangerous as being able to be marked in an ocean, in a pit of lava, or just over the edge of a mountain.


By default, recalling also has a lightning and sound effect, that lights up very pretty at night I've been told. Creatures led with a rope will also follow the recaller. Invisible GMs will not get a lightning effect, and the sound is inaudible to everybody else.

Alexandra confirmed when using recall runes, your helmut will take damage when used.  If you don't want damage, unequip your head armor first before using.

The QL of Rune determines how far you can teleport.  In Gloomwood, testing a 75ql Rune allowed thr player to move about 13000 tiles South and about 5000 tiles West. 

When using the recall Rune, you must not be mounted / embarked on a mount / vehicle.  You will get an error if you are rising on something.  You can however lead an animal and when using the Rune, the led creature will follow you through.

For lower ql runes, you can use small step strategies such as making a bunch of low ql runes and every Rune goes do far.  Every time you go on your adventure, bring extra runes with you and keep recalling where you left off.  Using low ql runes could get you across map if using several of them, or optionally get skill good enough to make high ql runes.
